New River Valley, VA – GO Virginia Region 2 recently awarded Virginia’s New River Valley a grant for their Site Advancement Strategy. The initiative will look at industrial sites in the region to identify infrastructure gaps, environmental constraints, and assess development needs to help the NRV attract high-value industries.
Led by the New River Valley Regional Commission in partnership with Onward New River Valley, the effort will work with leaders in Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski counties, and the City of Radford, to evaluate key industrial sites in the region. Backed by $94,400 in state funds and $108,479 in non-state contributions, the project aims to make industrial properties more competitive to attract employers in advanced manufacturing, automation, and other high-wage industries. By improving the competitiveness of industrial properties, the region can better respond to business expansion opportunities and foster long-term job growth.
