The NRV Experience is an eight-week-long summer curriculum that allows interns the opportunity to see if the New River Valley is a natural fit for them after graduation. While NRV employers teach interns how to work in the NRV, we show them how to live here. It’s professional development, community building, and summer camp all rolled into one experience.

Future of Talent Summit

The Future of Talent Summit is an annual event that brings together business leaders, educators, and workforce professionals from Virginia’s New River Valley and surrounding regions to address workforce development challenges and opportunities. The 2026 Future of Talent Summit will be held at Roanoke College.

Leaders’ Summits

The Leaders’ Summits, hosted by Onward NRV, are held for the Manufacturing and Information Technology sectors and are designed to bring together industry professionals to address common challenges, share solutions, and foster collaboration across their fields. Hosted twice a year for each industry, these summits provide valuable insights and facilitate discussions for industry leaders and are free to attend.
