MELD PrintWorks Set to Expand in Montgomery County

Montgomery County, VA – Montgomery County recently announced that MELD PrintWorks Corporation will be expanding their facilities in the county’s Falling Branch Corporate Park. With an investment of $3 million, MELD will be constructing a new 12,000-square-foot facility that will allow the company to scale up operations and manufacture larger components. According to the press release, it will be built “on the same property as Aeroprobe Corporation and MELD Manufacturing Corporation.”

MELD PrintWorks uses a patented MELD process that is capable of printing 3D metal parts. Made with a variety of metal alloys, the high-performance parts are used in industries like aerospace, defense, automotive, and shipbuilding. The new facility will allow PrintWorks to grow their capabilities and provide customers with “high-value components at unmatched lead times.”

The press release goes on to state that “Montgomery County will partner with MELD PrintWorks on the expansion with a one-time economic development grant through the Montgomery County Economic Development Authority for site infrastructure and service installation, stormwater management compliance, and fees associated with connections, permitting and inspections.”
