Small Business Innovation Research Awards
The Small Business Innovation Research (or SBIR) program is a United States Government program, coordinated by the Small Business Administration, intended to help certain small businesses conduct research and development (R&D). Funding takes the form of contracts or grants.
The table below is a list of companies in Virginia’s New River Valley that have received SBIR awards from 2000 to 2016. The region has historically ranked second in Virginia for annual SBIR awards, second only to Northern Virginia.
